nice catch at Fisherman's Wharf

01/12/2006, Friday nite...

this is a nice simple fish & chips place near carpenter street, u place ur orders at the counter... pay up,take ur number tag and wait at ur seats. food arrived in baskets lined with brown paper, the fillets of fish nestled upon chips (thick cut potatoes, but u can also opt for fries), accompanied with tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon. malt vinegar and salt avaliable at the table.

happy dory

it may look different, it's confused dory!!!
cross-section of dory, thick slice of juicy fresh fish
halibut, looking remarkably like happy dory
the cross-section proves otherwise...

food is very good, not too oily... the batter is nice and light, and the fish is juicy and sweet~ going very well with the tartar sauce indeed. the portion is nice and huge, well worth the money indeed. the regular dory set goes at $6.50 while the halibut (catch of the day) is at $10.50

The dory is the best bet. Its creamy. Not too fishy. Crisp on the outside and the flesh is kinda milky. I like. Also, they have 3 types of tar tar sauce there. I've been a regular for almost 1 year now because I used to take Salsa lessons upstairs.
