one of the things i've conveniently learnt is to NEVER admit that it's u, but it's always due to the instigation/suggestion/etc of others!! especially when the deed involves one or more of the 7 sins... in this case, i blame Japan Hour for showing me all those nice footages of seafood in their Hakodate special. it's THEIR fault that i made the resolution to wake up early the next morning to buy fresh prawns from the wet market, and it's NICK's fault (having misheard my "i wan some prawns" as "i wan some porn") that this post's title is thus so misleading... oh well, the great joys of denial....
presenting the starrs!! on the left are glass prawns and on the left (looking a rather unwilling dismal shade of gray) are the "mah har" (mah = numb??)
after some cosmetic preparation for the prawns (trimming and de-vein), they are simply steamed and here's what they look like cooked.i'm actually a little disappointed to see them in the same shade of orange, but truth to be told.... the glass prawns taste better than the "mah har"
